This is going to be a sweet and short entertainment update because there were a lot of awesome news that came out. ^^ Be excited! (Zhao Liying fans, prepare your heart for this one…)

First thing first, Ma Ke. Ma Ke in Song of Phoenix. Ohh so glorious. I know these pictures are all from only two scenes, but he looks flawless in everything:
OMG OMG OMG! Guess who is coming to Happy Camp soon? The cast of Go Princess Go!! Omg, this is so exciting. I have been trying to find interviews with the cast on youtube, but none of them has a good MCing… I hope this episode will come out soon. Plus, finally, Xie Na is back from her annual US trip so the episode will be fun to watch too! ~~ can’t wait.
By the way, for the non-Chinese watchers of the show, there are a few blogs doing recap for it (dramakiwi and Ninja Reflection)! Maybe this will help until we wait for Viki to get the rights to sub this drama ^^
Zhao Liying is officially the face of Bi Yao for Zhu Xian Legend of Chusen. Surprisingly, I am not even that mad anymore. Here are my reasons. I was mad at the production team for using her name for noise marketing. But, now, we can agree they legit had a good reason to use her name. Plus, this week, Tencent just gave a popularity award for our Liying. I can’t stay mad forever. This is going to be a sweet role for her (short since she will play a sleeping female lead), get her to play with Li Yifeng in a hugely mediatised project and hit to stardom even more. ^^ Also, the new stills of Li Yifeng in character gave me back some hope for this projects. Without the photohop on the character stills, the drama actually looks watchable! However, I still hope she would stop overmediatising herself and get some rest v_v

I am sure ikitten will love to write a recap for that! 😉

I love history and culture in general so this series is really intriguing for me. I may be drawn to it by Ma Ke but now I really want to know the story that they will offered.
The team seem to be very dedicated and so far they did not disappoint me in term of poster, costume and song.

He sounds like a really cool poet and the story is actually quiet well developped. I am also curious to see the rest of the cast in costumes without hiding their faces. Hope Ma Ke will be really badass (of course he will 😉 )

Ace vs. Ace poster looks more like a movie/drama with FBB as the evil queen and AngelB as the sweet innocent girl. The Greatest Love looks super cute and fun, love Chen Qiao En face 🙂 and her mom is adorable. Once again, MA KE IS GORGEOUS!

I tried watching some interviews with the cast of GPG, which were okay, but there was this one which was extremely awkward and it lasted for over an hour xD I originally watched them for Zhang Tianai and Sheng Yilun, but I found myself being captivated by Yu Menglong and Guo Junchen as well. Very adorable personality they have.

Are you talking about the one where the MC didn’t even appear on the screen? Most interviews where okay, but they did not bring out the personality of the cast or how they interact with each other… so I was a little disappointed. And I love Yu Menglong too, I think it would be interesting to have him act as a girl in a guy’s body next… pls let this happen ><

Zhu Xian is heavily hyped, so I am expecting that it will do well on the same level as Legend of the Ancient Sword, hopefully.
Yes, I am talking about the one where the MC didn’t appear on screen. I had to fast forward a lot of parts because the pacing was too slow. I find Yu Menglong and Guo Junchen to be the most opened and expressive thus far, during those interviews. Hopefully, they’ve loosened up more in HC!

Agreed… it is funny, because SYL keep saying he is good at making dry jokes and that he does a lot of aegyo but he totally keep up his acting as the crown prince during interviews! I don’t mind him and ZTA been low key since it is part of their personality and one of the reasons they are adorable ^^ But yes, more interaction on HC pls!~

Haha…this blog really has brainwashed me since day 1 — for Zhu Xian, the cute pics of Liying have completely stolen my heart this time(so sorry to my Yifeng gege ^^”). As for Go Princess Go, I just checked it out for all the hype as usual, and dang, I’m really surprised how good the production team is despite the low budget. Also, the leading actress is really charismatic (kinda reminds me of Jun Jihyun).

YES! That is exactly who Zhang Tian Ai reminds me of, Jun Jihyun. So much charisma in her acting, so natural!

Zhao Liying looks so cute in those stills (those cheeks >_<) But to be frank, bangs aren't what suit her the most! I liked her haircut in Wife's Secret the most (straight hair and natural ^^)

Happy Camp with the cast of Go Princess Go!! should aired on February 6. I am excited to see that episode for sure. What I am not excited is the costume and hairstyle of Bi Yao is all wronggggg. WTH are they thinking? She’s suppose to wear green not blue and have a very specific hairstyle. It’s not like the costume and hairstyle department have to think very hard on what BY is suppose to look like since the author wrote very specific details about her hairstyle as well as costume. At least she looks cute but unfortunately also too naive and a bit of a countryside girl style which is not BY at all.

The author described in his book that Bi Yao is as beautiful as a Confederate rose Latin name (hibiscus mutabilis) and yes very sassy and smart that’s why she’s beloved by many.
Apparently the author also commented today on his weibo page that Bi Yao will look even more beautiful if she wore green. I don’t know if that is true or not since I don’t know Chinese at all but I read it on FB. But common, even the author has spoken up! The costume department messed up big time. Lu Xue Qi costume is not right also. She’s suppose to wear all white all the time. There should not be any other colors on her costume. She’s a cold beauty like Little Dragon girl. I am sorry for my rant. I don’t follow any idol so I don’t love/hate any actor. What I am comparing it is what the book described and the characters stills and pictures that are being released so far.

I agree. A lot of people are pointing out how similar Zhao Liying’s outfit in Zhu Xian is similar to the one she had in Legend of Zu (at the beginning). Those drama producers should start listening to the fans’ voices and create production more similar to the original novel. As for Lu Xue Qi and her blue-ish dress, I don’t like it that much either. It reminds me too much of the Michelle Chen version of Xiao Long Nu and mehhh, bad memories.

Since ZLY finally appeared in ZX I will watch it, but only as long as she will be awake lol I need time to get used with her bangs.
I really liked Go Pricess Go, sometimes need this kind of shows, where can just relax and laugh without hyper worries about plot twists and e.t.s Absolutely hilarious and adorable drama, but how can they do that with ending.

I can kinda understand why she took the role… this drama will most likely be popular with her and Li Yi Feng + TF boys. She only has Rookie Agent Rouge coming out in 2016, so this would be another drama for her to gain some exposure. Plus, she’s female lead right? Will she end up dying though like they’re saying or is her story going to be changed by the production to allow for her character to have more screen time… I was reading the description of the characters in Zhu Xian. And Yang Zi’s character is described as a fairy who is out-of-this-world beautiful? As much as I liked Yang Zi in Battle of Changsa… she’s simply not beautiful. But it’s probably not possible for Zhao Li Ying to change roles with Yang Zi now, isn’t it? And did ZLY finish Nine Old Gates and the Eternal Waves movie… or is she doing both at the same time??

Apparently she is female lead. But in the novel, her character is supposed to be second female lead. So I guess they will have to change her character a lot AND have two female leads. After all, it would be only fair to Yang Zi who had been filming for a month already. Yeah, Yang Zi doesn’t really sound like her character description and Zhao Liying’s costume is all messed up 😦 At least we know the two actresses are really good at acting so hope it won’t the bad interpretation won’t take too much away from the drama. ZLY finished filming for Old Nine Gates, but I thought she needed at least January to finish Eternal Waves.. Maybe she is doing two projects at the same time? Girl is way too busy..

It is a movie and she already filmed it (December 2015 to January 2016). I wonder when it will be released (I would say after Chinese New Year since right now, movie theater schedules are so packed!)

Omgad! I hope that 3rd ending is coming soon for GPG and that it’s a good one because I was pretty disappointed with the other two. Idk why China likes to make multiple ending when they could have just given it a happy ending one and end it there.

At least they filmed multiple ones and are releasing them. I hated how the R1988 one ended and there is just no turning back. In this case, if the fans complain hard enough, they may air the second option xD But I agree, why is it so hard for the producers of drama to get it in one shot? I mean the watchers are not that hard to understand…

Because China loves ambiguity 😛 I watch a lot of C-movies and when they are addressed to a more mature audience, it is most of the time an open ending… I guess it is part of the culture? ^^ But as long as the third one is good (it was supposed to come out today but got postponed T^T), I am ready to forget the first two O:)

True! It’s almost always open ending or a weird ending thus I can never be fully satisfied with their ending. It’s like most of their drama are always good and then they throw a curve ball at the end of the drama.
