Synopsis from Wikipedia:
- Zhang Xiao Fan (portrayed by Li Yifeng and Roy Wang): One night, when he was eleven years old, everyone in his village was killed, leaving only his childhood friend Lin Jin Yu and a villager Uncle Wang survived. They were later adopted by the Qing Yun faction, the leader of the righteous and good.
- Lu Xue Qi (portrayed by Yang Zi): The female protagonist of the novel. She is from the same faction as Zhang Xiao Fan, the Qing Yun. She is said to be a “fairy from nine skies” for her beauty that can enchant the entire country.
- Bi Yao (portrayed by Zhao Liying): She is the daughter of the archlord of Gui Wang faction. Very energetic and arrogant, she loves Zhang Xiao Fan.

I heard there were some intense fan war between the two camp of XF-LXQ vs. XF-BY. All I am praying for is that the script will be loyal to the book. I mean, if they deviate too much from the book then the soul is gone.

I would guess so, which is super dumb. The reason I think is because on one side, LXQ is the female LEAD and not even the producer team should change that. On the other hand, Zhao Liying ALWAYS get into dating controversy with her male leads (remember how much rumors were out about her going out with William Chan half way into filming for Legend of Zu). The production team isn’t helping either by putting Liying into the female lead category. Anyway, totally with you. I just want an enjoyable drama which also puts my girl under a positive light. I don’t care if she gets the dude.

I didn’t plan to watch it since story doesn’t amuse me but, man that all is so FINE, that I want watch it right now *Intense screaming* Posters are gorgeous and high-quality, cast is bunch of pretty faces, otp that I wanted long time ago. It’s make me pain when I understand that must wait a lots of time till they done all process and give it out.

Haha, that is the whole tactic behind this drama. Mad promotion to no end… and I am also getting curious to see the first trailer now. ^^ Haha, considering all the hype, I am sure they are aiming to be the next Hua Qian Gu. In that case, they will HAVE to release it for this summer(aka my xianxia period), right?

I have a question since I am not familiar with many actresses, is that the same yang zi in battle of Changsha? No right? It looks like 2 completely different people.

Yes, Yang Zi is also the female lead in Battle of Changsha ^^ Maybe you didn’t recognize her because the character stills are heavily photoshopped? Also, she matured a lot in the past year and I find she has slimmed down a bit.

Wow omg she looks wayyyy too different. Like extremely different. Lol if its Photoshop I think it’s too much. Very pretty though but she changed 360° to me lol I couldn’t recognize her at all. Lol I’m so biased though so for me the best looking actress and main girl for me is ZLY hehe. Honestly, I will only watch this for her.

I don’t feel like she changed that much though! :O maybe a 30 degree in my opinion xD Haha, I will be watching for Zhao Liying and Yang Zi. Although the rest of the cast is good, they aren’t good enough to make me want to watch for them hehe. Curious to see how the story will turn out!

And here I thought I was gonna watch it for Yang Zi. Was a fan of her since Battle of Changsha and like, yay, finally one of her stuffs is totally gonna get subbed~ but so far her character sounds uninteresting… and the upcoming fanwar really turned me off too… So there will be some love triangle?

I don’t know how big the fandom of Zhu Xian the book and video game are in China but Zhang Zhi’s character in ZX is very difficult to play and if she nail the role then I will be the first one to thank her. The character is not one dimension at all. She’s strong emotional, very cold on the outside and her love for the protagonist is to be treasured.

Yes….the character of Lu Xue Qi is very hard to play, if following novel. I never watched the dramas were played by Yang Zi so i don’t know she play well, right? but since i saw her photos in this drama then i looked at her face i was made to thinking about Xue Qi’s face in the novel who talk a bit, smile down a bit or never smile, do not show anything on her face and when she love she do not care anything though she know that Xiao Fan got someone and her love has a bit chance to success, but she still love and never change her mind.

She acted pretty natural in BoC, but I guess how her character was written contributed too. Nice to hear her character here gonna be a complex one, I hope she delivered. Thanks for the info!
