Another post I am super excited to write about! The movie My New Sassy Girl starring Victoria and Cha Tae Hyun will be released on March 22nd.
Guess what is happening today?
The release of My New Sassy Girl with Victoria and Cha Tae Hyun!
The movie tell the story of Gyun Woo, portrayed by Cha Tae Hyun, a man who encounters his sassy first love and ex-comrade, portrayed by Victoria, by pure “chance”.
Despite the opposition of his family and her bad temper, they decides to get married. The question is, will he survive the conjugal lifestyle?
Poor puppy :”D! If you are interested, I added the two trailers of movie below. Victoria and Cha Tae Hyun look adorable and this project definitely has the same vibe as the first movie with Jun Jihyun. I doubt it will meet the expectations set by the ultimate Korean movie My Sassy Girl, but it certainly looks like a lot of fun.
Also, they dubbed both actors’ voice. I like the sound of it, but I am also a little disappointed :”D

I don’t like when c-movies or dramas are being dubbed, aren’t subs enough to understand? At least we have Korean variant where both Cha Tae Hyun and Victoria speak with their own voices.

There is korea trailer which they didn’t dub…
I hope this will do well or else Victoria will get hated from Korea

Not only Korea, My Sassy Girl was a phenomena in Asia so she will definitely get criticized. I hope the movie is good!!

Going to watch it when it becomes available because of my two baes. But… I doubt I’ll like it even half as much as the original Sassy Girl, mainly because of the dubs and the mismatch of the two leads.

i don’t think the dub makes the movie less interesting, it actually matches Victoria’s character. But yes, it is not as perfect as the original movie, thats for sure :”D

You got the release date wrong. It’s April 22.
Due to MSG1’s success, criticism will be there yes,,, but boxoffice wise I think it won’t be bad in China. Btw, the Korean producer of the movie said that the whole project got revived once Chinese company made investment. Due to this, when they developed the new scenario, they decided that the new sassy girl will be Chinese who isn’t fluent in Korean. Since this is KOR-CHN collaboration project and male lead is Korean, then female lead has to be Chinese actress.
Then we really think about it,,,, amongst all C-actresses out there right now, who can speak at least bit of Korean and also has some public recognition in Korea (since this movie is being released in both countries)? Only Vic. No one else matches this qualifications.
Also, I’ve watched quite a lot of C-movies in the past,,, it seems Chinese like those b class comedy movies,,,, there are some which I don’t get how they even earned that much revenues. From the trailer, it sounded super funny and I’m hoping the whole movie will be just as fun as the trailer. I’m just hoping this will do well in China cuz it will open a lot more doors for Vic’s future career.
